You might dig the original a bit more. It’s a pretty standard 70s action flick – which means it’s slower and less flashy – but the ending is so much more interesting and the movie feels a lot more meaningful than this one.

Saw the movie today – LAME. They claim their “research” will lengthen warning times and “save lives” but never explain how or what they are accomplishing…other than a huge waste of time and money. The dorks in the tornado mobile are trying to get this amazing shot and then what? …all the while constantly complaining that they are having a tough time running into a tornado as though they don’t even know how rare they are in relation to the thousands of square miles they are driving around in! I wonder if this dude’s mom was okay with what he was doing since they all look like a bunch of nerds who live in the basement. One dude wore a bike helmet for safety and giggling like a girl. An average looking science chick made a quick appearance then vanished with no explanation. ..and the another idiot was trying to use stuffed animals as good luck charms on his truck. This is a disaster movie, but now hot they intended….not science or entertainment ..it’s something well below either of them.

Bill Paxton has a way of sneaking up on you a bit. I’ve questioned cancelling the netflix, but for now it serves its purpose and it probably is the most popular streaming service which is why we highlight it on the site.

This is still one of the best movies from my childhood, and honestly, until your list of the cast at the bottom of this site, I didn’t even know that Bill Paxton was in this movie. Every once in a great while does Netflix offer something good, but those are few and far between. I decided to cancel my Netflix service because I couldn’t justify spending money on something that I used maybe once or even less a month. Now I’m using the Blockbuster @Home service, this is so much more of a complete service over Netflix. I can get video games and BluRays at no extra charge, and one of my coworkers at DISH told me that Netflix cancelled their attempts on offering video games.

I LOVE Nic Cage and this movie is an abomination. I hated every second of it. There is nothing redeeming about this film. I actually shuddered and felt bad for you when I saw that you sat through this film. That’s one heck of a way to kick off review #501. On behalf of Nicolas Cage and the makers of Next, I apologize for making you sit through that.

Actually, I know one kid named “Hayley” that’s quite a good kid. Had her play a few soccer games as a call-up this season for the soccer team that I coach. No issues whatsoever. XD

Although, really, I’ve never noticed a lot of little kids running around the cinema. Granted, I don’t work there and I haven’t really paid attention to it, so I could easily be ignorant here, but I’ve never heard/seen the situations described here.

I don’t see anything really bad about this article. I definitely don’t think it came across the way C Kidman read it. I was/am a BP fan From many of her television appearances but have never seen WCPCOS. I have no interest in that one because I don’t like horror movies at all. I am a woman and find BP to be beautiful and talented and strong. And it was nice to read that she has continued success out of the public eye. So thanks for the update!

I didn't like much of Rango for the same reason I didn't like a lot of something like Team America. For me, seeing tons of cliches with nothing special done with them isn't enjoyable. I get that in some aspects, it acts like a satire (especially in the case of Team America), but seeing them play out again and again, after already being tired of them, simply isn't enjoyable. Rango plays out basically like any other western, except in this case, it's talking animals instead of humans. It's a small difference that isn't enough to keep things fresh. The saving graces, I suppose, are the animation and the writing, both of which were quite good. But the plot is as simple as they come, and the film is too boring on the whole, I found.

I agree that this is one of the worst comic adaptations of all time. I can’t believe when I mention how bad this movie is and people act like I am being harsh on it. It barely kept my attention because there is so little interesting content throughout the movie. 9 thumbs down.

The Last Airbender is impressive in just how lifeless it is. Even if the dialogue is meandering and meaningless, the fights are directed in the most empty, inert way. It’s obvious Shyamalan had never shot a fight scene before, and tried to do it in a way that was completely unethical to creating tension. Lame, lame movie.

Thanks for reading the site! I pretty much agree with you. I liked the Norton version a bit better in the end but it didn’t seem to have as much depth. It seemed to be more of the mindless popcorn flick to advance us to the avengers movie. I did however enjoy Tim Roth in this one more than I enjoyed Norton or anyone in Hulk. Hulk however had an awesome style to it. I loved what Ang Lee did with directorial choices, split screens and cinematography when CG wasn’t too heavily involved. I only watched Hulk once but wanted to give it a re-watch sometime. After reading Matthews perspective I am starting to think I should watch them both back to back again and see which (if any) hold up.

Your first paragraph says it all – he’s just a shitty superhero. There’s good stuff to be mined, but it really doesn’t take all that long to do it, and the film(s) just seem repetitive as shit.

I just recently watched the other one (which you did as well) for the first time, mostly because I hated this one and of course have been told time and again that this Norton version is so much better. I don’t see it. They’re different, sure – this one’s more action-packed, but it’s also more stupid-packed, and I hated the “other monster” as you call it. All of the scenes with the other monster just reminded me of the battles between the battling Jekyll/Hyde creations in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and that can’t be a good sign, can it?

Regardless whether or not Kurt Angle had a good performance, this is still probably the best film he’s been in so far, and possibly the best one he’ll ever be in considering he can’t act (as anything by a professional wrestler on television, and even that’s pushing it).

I think Bobbie Phillips is a terrific actress! Did a lot of work in the nineties in a lot of genres. Sometimes beautiful actresses don’t get taken seriously. But, she has talent on top of just great looks. Loved her on sitcoms!

Will she return to acting… none of us know, so that always a possibility… who knows what way the world recession may have affected her financial status? Was she a great actress, No. A good solid actress who delivered though, but not a star, sadly. Today Bobbie is relegated to the cult status…which in my books is pretty cool. OMG!!!! sean i give u props man. ever since i started watching the show and heard u were working on a movie about twisters, i was on the edge of my seat wishing i could be there in the passanger seat of the tiv or tiv2 watching u get the needed film for ur movie. i also watched the mythbusters episode where you and reed timmer both sacrificed ur vehicles to see how much wind speed your vehicles can with hold. will here is my question. are u going to take out the tiv again next tornado season and shoot amature shots driving into a twisters and take shots of the tonado hitting you like reed does. I took a meteorology class 8-9 years ago in midde school for 2 years, and i grew tired of it, but now thanks to the show storm chasers and ur prise posessions tiv1 and tiv2. i now have a strong passon and interest in storm chasing and where i live i try to chase but my job gets in the way. but anywho i happy u got ur film you needed and i can’t wait to see it!!!! u should take the tiv2 to the pramere showing of ur film.

My favorite is the electrified fence scene, as they start to climb it you can clearly see that at least the kids could fit through some of the bottom ‘links’ quite easily. And of course, the best shot in the whole movie, where the Raptor gets the ACGT code projected onto his body in one of the corridors/rooms. As far as the T-Rex appearing inside at the end, I’ll have to assume it was another T-Rex, raised from infancy indoors and taught to respectfully hush up during reading hours/tour hours. He became incensed over the ruckus and had to act as Museum Security.

I didn’t like this very much when I first saw it, but after I grew up a little and began working with youth it really blew me away. There’s so much in the movie that seemed weird to me at first (the friend randomly moving in is a great example), but I was shocked by how much I heard real people telling me similar stories to what the movie showed.

Oh, and I definitely agree that they glossed over some parts – the relationships move really quick, and could have been fleshed out in a longer movie.

I can’t watch this one often now, because it’s a little too powerful due to work, but it definitely wows me when I do.

Great review, glad you dug it.

I’m going to be honest in saying that I don’t know if I have ever seen the film. I’ve know the basic plot, I have read stuff but horror has never really been my genre.
