The Count of Monte Cristo

A Film Review By Jason L. King

Starring: Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce
Directed By: Kevin Reynolds
Rated: Rated PG-13 for adventure violence/swordplay and some sensuality

Final Grade:

Over the last weekend, I decided it was time to declare it my Movie marathon weekend, to catch up on everything that I had not seen. The Count of Monte Cristo was one of those movies. Sitting through that seemed like so much more of a pleasure than other movies that are in that sort of Genre, such as the Musketeer (which in case you didn’t know… it was bad).

The Story is of Edmund Dantes, who was imprisoned for counts of treason and murder. He manages to escape and find the fortune of Monte Cristo, which he uses to buy the one thing that he wanted in the world: Revenge.

I must say I was very impressed with the movie. It followed the book it was based off of very well and could easily keep the audiences attention. The Cinematography was great and overall I’d say it was a great film, something worth checking out
