Love. Love love, love. Someone once said All you need is love. I think it was a Beatle. But that is beside the point. Love can be your best friend or worst enemy. In the Bedroom is the story of a young boy who falls in love wth a much older woman. The woman going through a tough divorce from an abusive husband, so she turns to the young boy and his family for refuge. But when a murder hits home, the family must learn to forgive, to forget or get even.

Wonderfully done, I have nothing but praise for this movie. The script, cinematography, both top notch, It might be one of the better films I have seen in a while. Acting was superb, and I could not ask for more. You feel as though you can connect with each one of the characters in the film. I think that was because of its cast. None of the character’s really stand out or overpower one another. There is an equal balance between all of them, and I can see all kinds of awards headed in the direction of Sissy Spacek and Marrissa Tomei. The ending, is dark, and depressing, makes you feel as though you were left up in the air, but overall even that had its positives to it.

After seeing it, All I can do is suggest it. If you are in Ames Iowa, Its playing in Varsity Theaters (Lincoln Way) this Week (Feb 15th.) Go check it out, I feel it will be worth your time. Its not your typical mainstream movie, its a little different for the average filmgoer. But if you can appreciate great acting, wonderful cinematography, and greatly direted film, this one should be on your must see list.
